Charlie Castle, Girls Basketball

Coach Charlie Castle is in his first season as the girls varsity basketball coach at Holden High School. He is a 1993 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with a communications degree and earned his teaching certification in social studies at Avila University in 2002.

This is Coach Castle’s 14th year at HHS. In addition to teaching world history and sociology, he has been an assistant for the baseball team the entire time and has coached at various levels of basketball and football. Prior to teaching, Coach Castle was a writer in the newspaper industry for seven years at the Branson Daily News and Cass County Democrat-Missourian in Harrisonville.

Coach Castle enjoys sports, movies and spending time with family in his free time. He has been married to his wife Rana for 16 years and they reside in Pleasant Hill.

Kristi Gudde, Cheerleading

Coach Kristi Gudde is in her 5th year as Head Cheerleading Coach at a Holden High School.  She is a graduate of Central Missouri State University (now UCM) with a double Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.  She has her Masters degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

Coach Gudde has 15 years of coaching experience.  She began as the Head Dance Team coach at Notre Dame de Sion in 2000.  She then started the Dance Team program at Odessa High School in 2002 and coached there for 9 years.  Coach Gudde moved to Holden in 2012 and became the Head Cheerleading Coach in 2013.  She has been an elementary teacher for 16 years and has taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade.  She is currently a 2nd grade teacher.

Throughout her time as a Holden High School Coach, she has lead the team to 2 Regional 1st place finishes and one 2nd place Regional finish.  She also took the team to the State level competition for 3 years in a row.

Coach Gudde is married to her husband, Spencer.  He is the Head Track and Field Coach at Holden High School and the Assistant Cross Country Coach.  They have one child, Camille.  Camille is a Freshman at Holden High School and enjoys being an active participant on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams as well as a member of Math team.  They reside in Holden with their dog, Snickers.

Spencer Gudde, Track & Field

Coach Spencer Gudde is in his fifth year as the Head Track and Field Coach at Holden High School.  He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University (now UCM) with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Mathematics Education.
 
Coach Gudde has 16 years of experience coaching Track and Field at the high school level. He has coached at Holden High School for all 16 of those years.  During this time, he has taught high school math.
 
In addition to his duties as the Head Track and Field Coach, Coach Gudde was also an Assistant Football Coach for 15 years and has recently started coaching Cross Country where the girls team took 2nd Place is the state competition in 2016.  He was also a Wrestling Coach for 5 years of which 4 of those he served as the Head Coach.
 
Coach Gudde is married to his beautiful wife, Kristi.  She is the Head Cheer Coach at Holden High School, and they have one child, Camille. Camille is a Freshman at Holden High School and active on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

Matt Habermehl, Softball & Boys Basketball

Matt Habermehl is in his fourth year as the Head Softball and Boy’s Basketball Coach at Holden High School.  He is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education.  At Missouri Southern, he was a member of Men’s Basketball and Baseball team.  Matt also has a Masters Degree from Central Missouri State University in Sports Management.
 
Coach Habermehl has 10 years of experience coaching at the high school level. He has coached at Knob Noster, Van Horn, and McAuley Catholic during that time.  He has taught for 9 years teaching high school math and middle school PE.  Matt also has experience coaching volleyball, baseball, and golf.
 
The softball program has had a winning season every year under Coach Habermehl, including a district championship and two runner ups. The basketball team has won double digit games 2 of the last 3 seasons.  
 
Coach Habermehl is married to his beautiful wife Angela.  She is a NICU nurse at St. Lukes on the Plaza, and they have two children, Summer and Minnie.

Mike Hedrick, Football

Coach Michael Hedrick is a 1987 graduate of Holden High School.  Following graduation he attended Missouri Valley College where he started for four years as an offensive guard and tackle.  Coach Hedrick was named to multiple HAAC All-Conference teams and also Earned All-American Honors in 1990.  He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education.  While at MVC he was a founding charter member of the Student Council for Exceptional Children Chapter.  He completed his Masters of Education degree from Webster University.  He has taught Special Education K-12, Elementary 4-5 grade,  and currently Advanced Fitness while at Holden.

Coach Hedrick is married to a 1989 graduate of Holden High School, Lisa Garrett. Lisa earned a Business Administration degree from Missouri Valley College and then completed her Education degree from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She started her career in KCMO Public Schools and has worked the last 19 years in the Blue Springs, MO school district.  She has been named Teacher of the year on multiple occasions for her district while serving her elementary students.  The Hedrick's are the proud parents of Daniel and Emily.  Daniel attended and graduated Northwest Missouri State University (2015).  He is currently teaching special education and coaching football and wrestling at Richmond High School where he was named New Teacher of the Year.  Emily is currently attending Northwest Missouri State University on the Presidents Transfer Scholarship from North Central Missouri College.

In his spare time, Coach Hedrick likes to spend his time gardening, barbecuing, and fishing. They also enjoy their family cats Mittens, Sagwa, and Labrador Harley.
