Meet our Superintendent

Mr. Mike Ringen

 

Mike Ringen joined the Holden R-III School District in July 2008 as superintendent of schools.

Ringen, a native of Stover, Missouri, has spent his entire 27 years in education living and teaching in rural Missouri communities. Ringen, who has worked in the Lincoln R-2 School District in Lincoln, Missouri, for the past 9 years, is in his sixth year serving as superintendent of schools. Prior to this, Ringen served as Lincoln’s junior high/high school principal for three years from 1999-2002. He was awarded the West Central Districts’ “New Superintendent of the Year” in 2004.

Ringen describes himself as a “progressive and proactive” superintendent. Ringen says, “In life, there is no such thing as sitting still; you are either moving forward or sliding backward.” Ringen says his main goal will be to help the Holden school district continue to move forward. During his career in education, Ringen’s commitment to student achievement has been the driving force in his leading the way in the implementation of a variety of academically-oriented programs that have increased student learning.

Mr. Ringen’s teaching experience includes teaching science in the Knob Noster School District from 1991-1999; the Lincoln school district from 1986-1991; the Hamilton school district from 1982-1986; and the Rock Port school district from 1981-1982.  He was also the A+ Coordinator for the Knob Noster School District and is a former coach.

The new superintendent’s education includes a bachelor of arts in education and science from Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO; master’s degree in secondary school administration from William Woods University; and a specialist’s degree in superintendency from the University of Central Missouri.

He and his wife, Merri, who is also an educator, have three grown children, Aaron,Shane, and Emily.
